Description

Dr. Oetker leaf gelatine (derived from pork) is ideal as a gelling agent in fruit tarts, creams, jellies and aspic. 1 pack of leaf gelatine (12 sheets) is sufficient for 1 litre of liquid.

Recommended method of use:

  1. Place the desired number of sheets in cold water and soak for about 5 minutes. If using more than one sheet, separate the sheets before soaking.
  2. Squeeze out the soaked sheets and heat until melted in a small pan over low heat or in a bain-marie. You can also microwave the soaked and squeezed out sheets in a bowl at 600 W in 10-second increments until liquid.
  3. For cold liquids/creams: Stir the melted gelatine into the cold liquid or cream.
  4. For hot liquids: Add the soaked, squeezed out gelatine sheets directly (without melting separately) to the hot but not boiling liquid. Stir until the gelatine gets completely dissolved.
  5. Before serving, let it set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
