Description
Dr. Oetker leaf gelatine (derived from pork) is ideal as a gelling agent in fruit tarts, creams, jellies and aspic. 1 pack of leaf gelatine (12 sheets) is sufficient for 1 litre of liquid.
Recommended method of use:
- Place the desired number of sheets in cold water and soak for about 5 minutes. If using more than one sheet, separate the sheets before soaking.
- Squeeze out the soaked sheets and heat until melted in a small pan over low heat or in a bain-marie. You can also microwave the soaked and squeezed out sheets in a bowl at 600 W in 10-second increments until liquid.
- For cold liquids/creams: Stir the melted gelatine into the cold liquid or cream.
- For hot liquids: Add the soaked, squeezed out gelatine sheets directly (without melting separately) to the hot but not boiling liquid. Stir until the gelatine gets completely dissolved.
- Before serving, let it set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
