ajaa! - Plastic Can Also Be Sustainable

At ajaa! everything revolves around bioplastics made from renewable raw materials. Founder Raphael Stäbler began to deal with this topic during his time as a university student and finally founded 4e solutions GmbH with the ajaa! brand in 2012. Since then, they have been making sustainable bio-plastic boxes and aim to completely replace conventional plastic products for daily use in the household.

All products are 100% made in Germany, have a positive CO2 footprint and are 100% recyclable.

The material

The raw materials for all ajaa! products are obtained entirely from natural materials. Sugar cane and minerals are the raw materials used, which is why the products are completely harmless to health. To create their bio-plastic, sugar cane juice is used instead of the crude oil needed to produce conventional plastics. This juice is a residual product left over from the production of cane sugar. The bio-ethanol obtained here is finally converted into high-quality, long-lasting bio-polyethylene through polymerisation and added minerals.

This material is identical in quality and properties to conventional, high-quality plastic, but does not contain any components that are harmful to the environment or health.

All ajaa! products are therefore free from melamine, plasticisers or formaldehyde resins.

The sugar cane used comes from sustainable cultivation, which also complies with social and environmental standards. The biggest advantage is that no additional agricultural land is needed for the production - the sugar cane juice is after all a by-product.

Important: Since all ajaa! products are designed so that they can be used for a long time, they are not biodegradable. They do not contain any toxic substances but would take a very long time to break down in the wild. On the other hand, all products are 100% recyclable.
