Description

Guar gum is obtained from the seeds of the guar bean. The purely plant-based thickener is neutral in taste and can therefore be used in both sweet and savoury dishes. Cold dishes can also be thickened with it. It is therefore just as suitable for hot soups and sauces as it is for ice cream and cold bowls.

Dosage: Half a level teaspoon (approx. 1.5 g) is sufficient for 150 ml of liquid for a lightly thicker consistency such as in sauces, gratin topping or dips. For soups or cold bowls, this amount is enough for 200 ml.

Preparation: Sprinkle the guar gum through a sieve directly over the liquid to be thickened. Boil briefly for warm dishes. In cold dishes you can simply let it rest and thicken on its own without boiling.
