Lovage

Levisticum officinale

Use:
The leaves and roots are used fresh, especially in Ligurian cuisine. Lovage seasons soups, stews and herbal vinegars. In Austria and Germany Lovage is often called the "Maggi Herb" after a popular condiment.

Origins:
Lovage originally came from Asia, but today it is largely grown in many parts of Europe. In the Mediterranean ,Lovage has been cultivated since the time of the ancient Romans.
