Description
Miso is a traditional, fermented seasoning paste from Japan. The Mugi Miso by Arche is made from barley malt and soybeans and is allowed to mature over a long period of time. This helps it develop an aromatic savoury taste that is finely balanced. The finished product is pasteurised and should be stored in a cool place after opening.
Miso can be used as a base for soups and is also suitable for dips, sauces, fish and vegetable dishes. Mugi Miso can be used to refine not only Asian dishes and is a great addition to other cuisines as well.
Note: The darker the miso, the longer the fermentation time and the more intense the taste. If the taste of Mugi miso is not intense enough for you, try a darker miso such as Hatcho miso. There are also milder types of miso such as the sweet Genmai miso.
