The "Hamburg" BBQ Rub is a quintessential marinade! Inspired by American BBQ recipes and German spices, a total of 14 ingredients make their way into this rub. Sweet paprika and smoked paprika blend perfectly with garlic and onions and various peppers. Bay leaves, coriander and thyme round out the flavour for a balanced blend.

Marinades or BBQ Rubs are spices that are used for flavouring meat. You can marinate meat before you bake it, grill it or steam cook it.

Add the marinade to oil (we like to use olive oil), water, red wine or beer. If you like exotic food, add honey, lemon juice or jam. Anything goes, as long as it tastes good! Complete your spice blend, then rub onto your meat. You can use the rub on any kind of meat, vegetables or cheese. If you are using the rub on meat, make sure to let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. If you have time, leave the marinade on overnight in the fridge. The rub is particularly tasty with zucchini, peppers, aubergine, feta or halloumi cheeses.
